Classroom Management
In order for a classroom to be a safe, happy, positive place for learning, a management system
is necessary. In my classroom, there are routines and procedures in place to
maximize time on task and prevent opportunities for misbehavior. I encourage
students to make good choices and praise them often for doing so.
Classroom Expectations
1. Be Ready to Learn (listening, paying attention, and having materials needed)
2. Be Respectful (with words and actions)
3. Be Responsible (for your actions and your supplies and work)
4. Be on Task (always working on something to improve our leaning!)

Rewards and Consequences
Green- Great job
Yellow- Warning
Blue - Miss 5 minutes of recess
Red- Miss whole recess/ call parent
Double Red- Principal referral/ Time out of class
I use the colors chart as my behavior management system in my classroom. If children stay on green they will get a star punch on their punch cards and when they are full they can get a prize or they can have lunch with me in the classroom. If the class is doing well and staying on green we will have an ice cream party after 10 days of everyone being on green! We also have Bubble Gum days when we have earned 10 compliments from other teachers, the principal, or when walking in line to and from specials appropriately!
* I do know not all children or classes are the same and therefore I may need to use different strategies and management tools in order to manage my class in the most effective way possible for optimal learning to occur! Every child may not be treated the same, but they will be treated fairly and with respect!
